Abstract

The development of digital technology has made social media a vital part of the lives of children and adolescents. With the expansion of internet access, social media has become a vital part of the daily lives of children and adolescents in Bengkulu, particularly in Anggut Bawah Village, Bengkulu City. The phenomenon of social media use is increasingly evident. Its use has indeed opened many doors, from information to creativity. However, the challenges emerging in Bengkulu City are unique. Children and adolescents often access digital platforms without fully understanding their positive and negative impacts, and children and adolescents in Bengkulu City are exposed to common risks such as cyberbullying and negative content. Educating young people about wise social media use from an early age is a crucial step to instill an understanding of digital ethics, prevent misuse, and guide the younger generation to be more critical and responsible in their use of social media. This activity was conducted through interactive outreach with discussions, Q&A sessions, and simple simulations on the impacts of social media. The results showed an increased understanding of participants regarding healthy and productive social media use.
