Abstract

The advancement of information technology has triggered a new economic culture through cryptocurrency. In Indonesia, differing viewpoints between Bank Indonesia and the Ministry of Trade regarding the definition of cryptocurrency have influenced regulatory patterns. This research aims to analyze normative juridical aspects in the regulation of cryptocurrency in Indonesia. Using a normative legal research method, this research traces laws and regulations that are related. The research findings indicate that these definition differences impact policy-making and legal implications. This study provides insights into the challenges of regulatory harmonization and lays the foundation for solutions towards comprehensive regulation.
